SIG Sells Nine Filling Lines, Wins Best Packaging Innovation Award

Dubai, UAE – Nov 11, 2025: SIG has disclosed that it successfully finalized contracts to sell nine filling lines during the Gulfood Manufacturing 2025 event held from November 4 to 6 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. This achievement underscores SIG's dedication to advancing innovative, sustainable solutions that support the growth of the food and beverage sector.

The company’s aseptic packaging technology is designed to extend shelf life without requiring refrigeration or preservatives. Their adaptive filling technologies allow producers to cater to diverse formats and volumes. During the exhibition, SIG was also honored with the Best Packaging Innovation Award for its SIG Terra Alu-free + Full barrier packaging material. This innovation eliminates the aluminum layer from aseptic cartons, resulting in a reduction of CO₂ emissions by up to 61%, as shown by an independent ISO-compliant life-cycle assessment for Europe (EU 27+3), while offering a shelf life of up to 12 months and compatibility with existing SIG filling lines.

“We are pleased to announce the successful sale of 9 filling lines at Gulfood Manufacturing, reflecting the strong demand for our sustainable and efficient packaging solutions. The Best Packaging Innovation award for the SIG Terra Alu-free + Full barrier further validates our success to innovate and deliver high-performance solutions that meet the evolving needs of the food and beverage industry,” said Abdelghany Eladib, President & General Manager, India, Middle East and Africa at SIG.

SIG's booth at the event was architected to highlight the customer journey, displaying how the company aims to add value from initial concept all the way to the finished product. It featured thematic zones including SIG Café, which focused on category and channel innovations; SIG Supermarket, presenting a global assortment of aseptic cartons, spouted pouches, and bag-in-box products; and SIG On-the-Go, which centered on convenience formats and lifestyle-driven applications. These zones illustrated SIG's commitment to consumer-oriented development.

The company also initiated SIG Talks, presenting discussions on core industry themes. These sessions featured insights from experts, customers, and partners, addressing various topics such as health trends, sustainability with a focus on alu-layer-free solutions, foodservice innovations, aseptic solutions for drinkable yogurt, digital innovations, and the expansion of aseptic technology in Western Africa.

Furthermore, SIG has entered into a partnership with Nutrition from Water (NXW) to create integrated product concepts featuring algae-based protein beverages alongside advanced aseptic packaging solutions. This initiative aims to address nutritional gaps in emerging markets by delivering protein-rich nutrition to communities in need. A sample of these new product solutions was showcased at Gulfood Manufacturing 2025.
