Dubai, United Arab Emirates - May 2026: piehaus, known for its innovative phyllo pastries, is thrilled to announce the launch of its Counter Culture Series, an ongoing collaboration that celebrates cultural storytelling through unique pies. The series debuted on May 26, 2026, featuring acclaimed Emirati pastry chef Sahar Al Awadhi and her creation, the Chebab Pie, which draws inspiration from traditional Emirati flavors.
The limited-edition Chebab Pie, available from May 26 to June 7, is designed to honor Eid Al Adha gatherings, encapsulating the warmth of Emirati hospitality through its saffron-cardamom dough filled with cream cheese and date syrup. Chef Sahar Al Awadhi described her inspiration for the collaboration: “I was inspired to collaborate with Chef Milan on the Counter Culture series because it captures the true essence of Dubai, bringing together communities from different backgrounds through a shared love of exceptional food.”
As piehaus continues to redefine the culinary landscape of Dubai, the Counter Culture Series aims to invite leading chefs and creatives to reinterpret flavors and cultural influences using piehaus’ signature approach. The first pie in this series, the Chebab Pie, blends nostalgia with modernity, making it an ideal companion for traditional karak tea.
Chebab Pie is available for both dine-in and takeaway, including a family-sized version perfect for sharing during festive gatherings. Pricing for the Chebab Pie is set at AED 52, with family servings offered at AED 220. Customers can also enjoy a cup of karak chai for AED 18.
Located in Alserkal Avenue, piehaus operates Monday to Friday from 9 am to 6 pm, and weekends from 9 am to 9 pm. Special Eid hours will extend service from 9 am to 9 pm. Pre-orders for the family-sized Chebab Pie can be made 24 hours in advance.
