Chef Akira Back, a renowned culinary figure and recipient of accolades from the Michelin Guide, will host an exclusive dinner event at W Dubai - The Palm on September 24, 2025. This special evening will showcase his limited-edition Time Capsule Menu, a six-course culinary journey that reflects the milestones of his illustrious career.
The Time Capsule Menu is designed to take diners on a gastronomic voyage through different eras of Chef Akira's professional life, beginning with his early cooking influences at Kenichi in Aspen and culminating in his latest innovative dishes. Guests will have the opportunity to savor a range of exquisite courses, including Shima Aji with Yuzu Ponzu and Nori Oil, Red Prawn with White Konbu and Angake Sauce, and the luxurious A5 Ribeye Miso Yaki with Ume Hollandaise. Adding to the experience, each dish will be paired with music from the corresponding era, enhancing the sensory exploration of Chef Akira's story.
As Chef Akira noted, “I am excited to share this journey with my guests as we reflect on the flavors, cultures, and experiences that have shaped my career.” The evening will culminate with a nostalgic dessert featuring Persimmon, inspired by Chef Akira's childhood in Seoul, Korea.
Due to the exclusive nature of this event, seating is limited, and advance booking is highly encouraged. The dinner will be priced at AED 599, with an optional wine pairing for an additional AED 300.
